The server hosting agreement between the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and NADRA has been settled as the ECP will use the NADRA server for general elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Sources said in this regard that the Election Commission does not have its server to save data and will pay rent for server hosting of NADRA.
Sources said the general election results will be generated through the new software ‘election management system’ (EMS).
The election management system will be operated through digital and manual methods, said the sources.
However, ECP has successfully tested EMS in all four provinces, added the sources.
The ECP tested the system in the offices of Regional Election Commissioners and District Election Commissioners in different districts, sources further added.
The presiding officers will send the results of their polling stations to the returning officers through the EMS, sources said.
Returning officers will prepare the results and send them digitally and manually to the Election Commission, sources said.
They said that each returning officer will be assigned four data entry operators and ECP has given training to data entry operators.
Sources revealed that the EMS system has been developed keeping in mind modern requirements and results can be sent through EMS with and without the Internet.
