Addressing the Apex Committee meeting, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir stressed the Tuesday importance of collective action in combating terrorism, stating, “In the war on terror, every Pakistani soldier—uniformed or not—is a soldier.”
The Army Chief highlighted the constitutional responsibility of ensuring Pakistan’s internal and external security, emphasizing that the Constitution holds supreme for all.
He warned that those obstructing the country's security or hindering the armed forces from performing their duties would face consequences.
“Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies are filling governance gaps with the daily sacrifices of their martyrs,” the COAS said, reaffirming the military's dedication to national stability.
The meeting, attended by top military and civil leadership, including chief ministers and relevant federal ministers, deliberated on: The national law and order situation, implementation of the National Action Plan for counterterrorism, enhanced coordination between provincial and federal authorities, and improved intelligence-sharing mechanisms to root out terrorism.
The committee reviewed the recent uptick in terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan and discussed measures to restore peace in the affected provinces. A detailed briefing was provided on the outcomes of ongoing intelligence-based operations across the country.
The Apex Committee reaffirmed its resolve to address terrorism comprehensively, ensuring the safety and security of the nation through unified efforts.
