In the latest development, 46-year-old Lal Muhammad Omar, who is accused of raping and killing two and a half-year-old Zainab in Charsadda, has refuted all allegations against him in the court, reported 24NewsHD TV on Monday.
The court has hired services of senior teacher Karim Shah for Special Person, who works at Social Welfare and Social Education, an instructor as the accused is not in his senses.
The accused rapist and murderer of little Zainab was presented in the court of Civil Judge Shiraz Ferdous in Charsadda amid tight security.
The judge ordered the police to send the accused in jail and present him again on October 31st.
The rape incident had shocked the whole nation just weeks after the motorway gang-rape case. The accused is from the same village and confessed to committing the crime before the police who recovered the sickle used for murdering the little child.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information Kamran Bangash addressed a news conference along with DPO Charsadda Muhammad Shoaib Khan on October 12 and identified the predator.
DPO Muhammad Shoaib Khan said the suspect in the Zainab rape case was identified after house-profiling of 388 houses. The suspect was famous for borrowing money from other people and he knew the village area very well.
“We have found an electronic tab from his procession in which we found movies. The tab has been sent to cellular forensic. We took the services of those Police officers who had solved these kinds of cases in the past.”
Police have also recovered clothes and shoes from the accused and arrested accused Lal Mohammad within three days.
The Police in Charsadda arrested a person involved in the horrific rape and murder of two-and-a-half-year-old Zainab on October 10.
It is reported that the police brought the arrested person to the crime scene and also located Zainab’s shoes from the nearby fields.
Earlier, it was reported that the police had taken 25 people over suspicion during the investigation process as they pressed hard to unearth the culprit.
On the other hand, Zainab’s father earlier demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment for the killer, saying his daughter went missing just two to three minutes after leaving the house to play outside. “It is the job of courts and government,” he said, calling for introducing tough legislation to curb the trend.
