At least 35 domestic and international flights of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) were cancelled as the PIA’s financial crisis has deepened, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to the PIA sources, the schedule of several flights was affected as the fuel supply to the PIA could not be resumed.
Five PIA flights from Karachi to Turbat, Quetta and Muscat were cancelled.
Three Dubai-Karachi and Karachi-Islamabad flights were also cancelled.
Two Karachi-Dammam flights and one Karachi-bound flight from Jeddah were also cancelled.
Two flights from Multan to Jeddah and Karachi, one from Sharjah to Multan, and one flight from Muscat to Faisalabad were also cancelled.
Two Multan-bound flights from Islamabad and as many flights to Dubai and Muscat from Faisalabad were also cancelled.
Abu Dhabi-bound flights from Faisalabad and a Kuwait City-Lahore flight were also cancelled.
Islamabad-Dammam, Dammam-Lahore and Dubai-Islamabad flights were also cancelled.
Two Sialkot-Abu Dhabi flights and as many flights from Islamabad to Jeddah and Dubai were also cancelled.
Two PIA flights from Islamabad to Chitral and one each to Muscat and Dubai were also cancelled.
Two PIA flights from Peshawar to Dubai were also cancelled.
Kuala Lumpur-bound PIA flight PK894 from Islamabad was delayed by four and a half hours.
Multan-bound PIA flight PK740 from Jeddah was diverted to Lahore.
Riyadh-bound PIA flight PK725 from Lahore was delayed by three and a half hours.
Muscat-bound PIA flight PK229 from Lahore was also delayed for eight hours.
