Seven ex-employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) reached out-of-court settlement with the PIA management in London, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to details, a case was filed in October 2021 in Employment Tribunal Services Court in London by seven employees of PIA who were retired forcefully.
The retired employees demanded PIA management to pay 7.50 million UK pounds to them as compensation. But both sides agreed to settle their dispute out-of-court after which PIA management will pay 5 million UK pounds to these employees which equals to Rs200 million in Pakistani currency.
Lawyers of both sides also endorsed this settlement accord. After agreement pf both sides on disputed amount a settlement accord which was signed by both parties submitted in the court.
Ex-employees of the PIA stated that the country manager of PIA who is performing his duties in London is responsible of this penalty. They further said that the amount should be recovered from those people who caused loss to national carrier loss instead from Government of Pakistan.
