Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan loves a lehenga. The star has worn both classic styles and more of-the-moment iterations, and nailed the look every time. Her secret? A well-constructed blouse and interesting embellishments that keep us impressed with her choices.

From a classic red to flirtatious pinks and floral appliqué numbers, there is so much to love about these lehengas.

There’s just something about red lehengas that instantly feels bridal, regardless of the style, craft or exact shade for that matter. Timeless and classic, it’s no surprise then that red lehengas have been a go-to choice for brides since years. But that’s not to say they’re only meant for wedding ceremonies. If styled right, a red lehenga can work perfectly well for a pre-wedding soirée too. If you’re in need of some inspiration, look no further than Sara Ali Khan’s latest outfit. Recently, the star wore a statement-making red lehenga that would make the perfect sangeet ensemble.

In case you’ve been keeping up with Sara Ali Khan’s recent looks, you’ll remember that of late, the actress has been serving up some serious wedding wear inspiration. After being spotted in a fuss-free sharara set, Khan opted for a blush pink lehenga. But it’s her recent red lehenga look that you may find yourself crushing over. In a shade that falls between crimson and maroon, her separates glittered in full effect thanks to the lavish tone-on-tone sequin embroidery all over her voluminous skirt and top. While the striking red lehenga made an impact all on its own, Khan’s blouse deserves a special mention. Strappy with a corset-esque silhouette, it’s a style you must consider for your sangeet or cocktail night. Her red lehenga was paired with a matching embroidered net dupatta.

Given that Sara Ali Khan’s lehenga came doused in sequins, she didn’t need extra bells and whistles to make a statement. The actor, however, went all-out with her choice of jewellery. Her picks: a three string necklace encrusted with baguettes and round diamonds, complemented with matching hoop-style earrings.

If you’re on the lookout for a statement lehenga for cocktail, ditched jewel tones in favour of a red lehenga like Sara Ali Khan’s to ensure all eyes are on you. The palette will work extremely well if you’re planning to wear a heritage sari or pastel lehenga.

Sara Ali Khan may be staying indoors like the rest of the country, but that hasn’t stopped the star from treating her fans to playful OOTD pictures and reels every now and then on Instagram, most of which are accompanied by her signature rhyming captions. While the 25-year-old loves crop tops, coordinate sets and cute dresses on her days off, she can’t resist vibrant Indian ensembles for special occasions. Her collection includes everything from regal lehengas to numerous renditions of the classic white kurta. Whether you’re seeking tips on how to pull off dramatic silhouettes or elevating simpler looks, one can always find some inspo from Khan.

While on set for a shoot, Sara Ali Khan opted for a lehenga which featured an organza base extensively covered in intricate floral French knots, cut beads, sequins and embroidery. The lehenga’s skirt showcased a gradient of blooms which went from pale pinks and oranges to a deep red towards the hemline. Khan’s matching blouse was also replete with floral surface work and featured a subtle sweetheart neckline with delicate trims all along the edges. The lehenga set was paired with a sheer dupatta and diamond earrings, along with a matching diamond necklace. For other shots, she skipped on jewellery with this look, proving that festive wear doesn’t always need to be accessorised. Beauty wise, the actress went with a dewy finish and soft curls.

Sara Ali Khan’s lehenga is the perfect pick for a daytime wedding.

Sara Ali Khan is an Indian wear loyalist. Off duty, she prefers fuss-free kurtas and anarkalis. And when she steps out for a wedding or festive event, lehengas are her go-to. Pastels, metallics, jewel tones… she’s got them all. Her repertoire of labels include Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Sabyasachi, Raw Mango and many more.

In the series of pictures shared on Instagram by her stylist, Sara Ali Khan was seen in a beautiful pink lehenga. The designer has had an association with the Mijwan Welfare Society (NGO), which works towards reviving and promoting the traditional craft of chikankari, for over a decade now. This time-honoured craft, generously rendered as flowers and foliage motifs on the skirt and blouse, also brought Khan’s lehenga to life.

While sleek buns and half-up, half-down hairstyles are the usual choice when it comes to Indian wear, Sara Ali Khan went for a versatile ponytail with her lehenga. With two trendrils framing her face, she proved that ponytails work just as well with a festive outfit as they do with casual jeans + tee combos. For makeup, she stuck to tones of rose pink via a swipe of eyeshadow, blushed cheeks and lipstick. The actor also gave her thumbs up to the ruling trend of wearing minimal or no accessories with occasion wear, and completely skipped on jewellery.
