The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Monday rejected the demand of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to give eight weeks for submitting a full answer in the prohibited funding case and adjourned the case hearing till November 6, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the hearing of the case, the PTI submitted an interim answer to the ECP and sought eight weeks for the submission of full answer in the prohibited funding case.

“It is a 10-year-old record which is to be brought from abroad. Many Pakistani citizens have been declared foreigners in the decision of the election commission. The commission has also declared PTI USA a foreign company,” PTI’s lawyer Shah Khawar argued before the ECP.

“A company registered in the United States will be a foreign company. Pakistani law will be followed along with American law,” the chief election commissioner (CEC) replied.

“You can challenge the ECP decision if you have any objection to it. If there is any mistake in the decision, it can be corrected,” he added.

“If more records come [from abroad], we will be able to answer every question of the election commission. Where so much time has elapsed, let two more months pass,” Shah Khawar said.

“It has already been eight years while talks about weeks. We cannot give more than four weeks,” the CEC said and adjourned hearing of the case till November 6 next.
