The shots from the events of the wedding between Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi and star cricketer Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha Shahid have taken the internet by storm.

Shaheen Afridi and Ansha Shahid Nikkahfied early this year. A reception was held after the Nikkah performed by Maulana Abdul Sattar at the Zakaria Mosque. Top cricketers and noted personalities from various walks of life showed up at the event.

Sharing a sweet picture of his daughter and son-in-law, Shahid Afridi penned an emotional note, saying: “Daughter is the most beautiful flower of your garden because they blossom with great blessing.

“A daughter is someone you laugh with, dream with, and love with all your heart. As a parent, I gave my daughter in Nikkah to Shaheen Afridi, congratulations to the two of them."

The pair were engaged two years ago and Shaheen revealed that it was he who thought about marrying Ansha first.

“It was my marriage so obviously, it was me who thought about marrying her. Lala (Shahid Afridi) and my brother are friends and our elders know each other too.My mother went ahead with the proposal and the families agreed,” he said in an interview.

Family and close friends showed up at the mehndi event at Shahid Afridi's residence in Karachi last night.
