Nearly a thousand employees of Radio Pakistan, who were reinstated in their jobs three months ago, have not received their salaries yet.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, these employees are facing severe financial difficulties and have appealed to the authorities to pay them as soon as possible.
The channel report said 994 employees were fired from various radio stations across the country in 2020, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Multan, Bahawalpur, Hyderabad and Khairpur.
These employees of Radio Pakistan were working as Resource Persons, Duty Officers and AMA. They were restored to their positions on the recommendation of former foreign minister and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
However, they have not been paid since then.
According to them, 29 of the affected employees belong to Lahore. They have expressed their frustration and disappointment over the delay and have urged the government to resolve the issue at the earliest.
