Pakistan and Iran pledge enhanced cooperation in border management

Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Dr Reza Amiri Moghadam Wednesday paid a courtesy call to Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif to discuss matters of mutual interest, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.  


During the meeting, Khawaja Asif emphasized the deep-rooted and historical religious and cultural connections that bind Pakistan and Iran.


He highlighted the centuries-old relationship between the two countries, describing it as both pleasant and brotherly.


They discussed extensively the Joint Border Commission, which plays a pivotal role in managing the shared border between Pakistan and Iran.


The defense minister underscored the significance of border management, noting that Pakistan has already implemented all necessary measures to ensure effective control and security along its borders.


Khawaja Asif stated that the two countries should continue their joint efforts in this area, as cooperation is essential for maintaining regional stability and preventing cross-border challenges.


Both parties expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral cooperation and acknowledged the positive progress made in recent years. They also reiterated their commitment to further enhance collaboration in areas of mutual interest, particularly in defense and border security.
