Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Khan has said that there will be no compromise on merit in the appointment of vice chancellors at all universities of the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Speaking at 24News TV channel’s programme ‘Goonj’, hosted by Sana Bucha, the governor has admitted that the state of universities in the province is bad. “We need competent people to run the affairs of universities,” he has said, adding, “I have interviewed the candidates whose names were included in the list.”
“Let me assure you that there will be no appointment in violation of the merit as long as I am the provincial governor,” he stated categorically.
