Special pink buses will be available in Islamabad on August 7 exclusively for women students and teachers, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

Pink buses will run on all major routes, connecting rural areas with urban centres and making travel easier and safer for women.

The availability of these buses under the initiative ‘Pink Bus Service’ is aimed at bolstering access to education and women’s empowerment will enable free and safe transportation for female students and teachers.

Many students enrolled in federal schools and colleges cannot pay transport fees which has put immense strain on under-privileged families. Such strain makes parents get their kids enrolled in nearby private schools.
