Inventor of modular lighting sheds light on STEM importance in address to SOAR STEM students

Gimmy Chu, the global CEO of modular lighting giant Nanoleaf, spoke to SOAR STEM Schools students via video link from Toronto on Friday.

The inventor of modular lighting spoke to the students to inspire them about the benefit of studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics curriculum seeing them as future STEM Heroes, who will impact the world through innovative and environment friendly innovations.

Gimmy spoke for over 45 minutes to over 100 students connected from different campuses of SOAR STEM Schools, the leaders and pioneers of STEM Education in Pakistan.

He told the students that he and two of his best friends were STEM students like them many years ago, and how their friendship and love for STEM education led them to change the way people look at and consume light, by launching Nanoleaf that has now become the world’s leading modular lighting company.

Gimmy advised the students to focus on maintaining strong relations with each other and to learn through STEM and AI.

Predicting what the world will be in the next 20-50 years, Gimmy told students that there will many jobs focused on mechanical engineering, mathematics, medical science, education, robotics and AI Technology.

It was a fantastic learning experience for SOAR STEM students, and it was the first time that Gimmy had spoken to school students anywhere in the world.

The event was streamed live on YouTube and was viewed by a large number of students.

The live session was a part of a series STEM Heroes, developed by the Academics department of SOAR STEM Schools where SOAR STEM Students will get to talk to celebrated individuals from around the world in the fields of science, tech, engineering and mathematics to seek motivation and inspiration from their journey – from Student students to revolutionary innovators.
