Security forces killed three terrorists in the Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in a joint intelligence-based operation, ISPR said on Thursday.
The dead - identified as Azmat, Karamat and Rehan - were involved in numerous terrorist activities, including the recent abduction of the district and sessions judge of South Waziristan, the military media wing said.
Judge Shakirullah Marwat was kidnapped from the Garah Mohabaat Adda area of Dera Ismail Khan district last week.
While the gunmen left the judge’s driver unharmed, they set the judge’s official vehicle ablaze before fleeing with Marwat.
A video of judge Shakirullah Marwat showed him appealing to the government and judiciary to accept the demands of his abductors.
“Taliban brought me here. It is a jungle and a war is going on.” In the minute-long message, the sessions judge said his release was only possible if the militants’ demands were accepted.
“I request the federal and provincial governments, chief justices of Peshawar High Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan to make sure the Taliban’s demands are accepted and my recovery is made sure as soon as possible,” he said.
