Pakistan reach final of 5s Asia Hockey Cup

Pakistan Saturday reached the final of the 5s Asia Hockey Cup being played in Salalah, Oman.
Pakistan defeated hosts Oman in 7-3 to reach the final in the first semi-final of the event.
Pakistan also qualified for the 5s World Cup Hockey for the first time in history.
For Pakistan captain Rana Abdul Waheed Ashraf scored five outstanding goals while Arshad Liaquat scored two goals.
Waheed is already the top score of the event and has now scored 26 goals so far.
In the second semi-final, India and Malaysia are up against each other for achieving the final spot against Pakistan.
Pakistan had edged out India 5-4 in the pool matches while played a 5-5 draw against Malaysia.
The final will also be played today.
Pakistan five side hockey team includes Goalkeepers: Abdullah Ishtiaq Khan, Ali Raza, Defender: Muhammad Abdullah, Midfields: Ehtsham Aslam, Muhammad Murtaza Yaqoob, Strikers: Arshad Liaquat, Zakaria Hayat, Rana Abdul Waheed Ashraf, Abdul Rehman and Abdul Wahab.
Olympian Waseem Feroze is coach of the team while Major R Muhammad Shahnawaz Khan is the manager.
Eleven teams are participating in the five-sided Asia Cup, including Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong China, Kazakhstan, Malaysia and the host country Oman.
