Star cricketer Shahid Afridi on Monday expressed his wish for opening a cricket academy in South Waziristan.
He was talking to media persons after distributing the rations bags among the 1,000 vulnerable people due to the COVID-19 in Tank.
Afridi said he has been pleading the case and asking governments for last seven years for the opening of a cricket academy.
“It is my wish to open an academy for the people of South Waziristan.”
“Waziristan people have a lot of rights and gave many sacrifices for the country. I really wanted to visit the South Waziristan but due to lockdown it did not happen,” he said.
South Waziristan Deputy Commissioner Hameed ullah Khattak assured Shahid Afridi to give him a complete tour of the Waziristan after the lockdown ended.
