The special operation launched by the PIA for the United Kingdom continued on Monday, as another flight PK-701 carrying 335 passengers left Islamabad for Manchester.
Earlier, the PIA had said that the flights will be operated daily from Lahore and Islamabad to London, Manchester and Birmingham to repatriate the Pakistani and British nationals stranded in the two countries.
Separately, ten chartered flights, organised by the UK government, will take around 2,500 stranded British nationals from Pakistan back to their country.
In this connection, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) allowed Qatar Airways to operate these special flights.
These special flights will be operated from Islamabad and Lahore to London and Manchester. The flight schedule is as under:
From Islamabad to London Heathrow – April 21, 22, 23
From Islamabad to Manchester – April 24, 25, 26, 27
From Lahore to London Heathrow – April 22, 24
From Lahore to Manchester – 26 April
More than 7,500 British nationals have already returned to the UK from Pakistan by commercial means, as the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has worked with Pakistan to keep routes running and airports operating.
Meanwhile, the national flag carrier will operate three fights.
