Security forces eliminated five terrorists in an exchange of fire following an attack on a security check post 10 kilometres West of Miranshah, North Waziristan on Monday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), media wing of the Pakistan Army, the terrorists carried out a gun attack on a security check post and an exchange of fire ensued. Troops effectively engaged the terrorists and killed five of them, the ISPR said. During the exchange of fire, a soldier embraced martyrdom and three others were injured. Troops cordoned off the area and launched a search operation immediately after the incident.
The martyred soldier was identified as Havaldar Akbar Hussain Khan (34), a resident of Dir Kot Tehsil in Bagh District. He was married and had four children (two sons and two daughters).
