A committee set up by the Sindh government has come up with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for businesses, which are going to resume their limited activities soon after a complete or partial lockdown in every part of the province .
The SOPs have been developed by representatives of the provincial government in consultation with traders.
According to key points of these SOPs, all businesses have been divided into 13 categories and they will open on alternative days from 9am to 5pm. According to the SOPs, construction-related activity and automobile sector will remain open on Mondays and Tuesday. On Thursdays and Fridays, jewellers, cloth markets and all markets and shopping malls will remain open. On Fridays and Saturdays, electronic markets, mobile markets, hardware, machinery, and computer markets will be allowed to do business activity from 9am to 5pm.
The aforementioned SOPs have been submitted to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah by a committee of three ministers – Saeed Ghani, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Imtiaz Sheikh. The chief minister will review them and make a final decision on their viability within 48 hours.
