Following the big rise in rates of yellow metal in the international market on Thursday, the Pakistani jewels market also witnessed a high jump in gold prices as the price of 24-karat gold has surged by Rs1,350 per tola.
According to the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24 karats of pure gold reached Rs2,18,200 per tola.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also increased by Rs1,157 to Rs1,87,071 per 10 grams in the local market.
Rates of 10 grams of gold of 22 karats have also increased and settled at Rs1,71,482 per 10 grams on Thursday.
Gold prices on Thursday increased in the international market by US$26 per ounce and traded at US$2,000 per ounce.
The rates of 24 karats fine silver remained unchanged and traded at RS2,530 per tola while the 22 karats silver traded at Rs2,170 per 10 grams.
