Five Pakistani Umrah pilgrims, including three women, were killed in a tragic bus crash while travelling from Al-Badr to Madinah, Saudi authorities and rescue officials confirmed on Sunday.

The bus collided with a trailer en route to the holy city, resulting in the deaths and injuries of several passengers, all of whom were travelling for the Islamic pilgrimage.

Rescue teams responded swiftly, transporting the deceased and injured to nearby hospitals. “Among the injured are women, children, and elderly pilgrims,” said a rescue source.

All five victims were Pakistani nationals hailing from the Bahawalnagar district in Punjab province. Two of the deceased women were from village 228/9-R, while the third was from village 201 Murad.

The two male victims were elderly men — one from village 39/3-R and the other from the town of Dahranwala.
