Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has launched flight operations from Lahore to Baku, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
In this regard, a ceremony was held at Lahore Airport, which was attended by Federal Minister for Aviation Khawaja Asif as the chief guest.
Azerbaijani Ambassador Khizr Farhadio was also present at the ceremony.
Lahore Airport Manager Chaudhry Nazir Ahmed welcomed the guests.
Secretary of Defence Major General Amir Ashfaq Kayani, Deputy DG Pakistan Airports Authority Sameer Saeed, and CEO PIA Amir Hayat were also present.
A cake was cut before the flight departed, while gifts were also distributed among the passengers.
More than 170 passengers left for Baku through the first flight, PK-159.
Lahore Airport Manager Chaudhry Nazir Ahmed gave a briefing about the development taking place at Lahore Airport.
