Jamaat-e-Islami is set to hold a Gaza March in Islamabad today, prompting the city administration to seal off key access points to the Red Zone, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
To prevent potential disruptions and ensure security, authorities have blocked three main routes leading to the Red Zone using containers, barbed wire, and concrete barriers.
A heavy contingent of police has also been deployed in and around the restricted area to maintain law and order.
Law enforcement personnel are fully mobilised, and strict surveillance is in place to monitor the situation as Jamaat-e-Islami proceeds with its pro-Palestine protest.
The Red Zone — home to key government buildings, foreign embassies, and diplomatic residences — remains completely sealed off, with restricted entry and exit for the general public.
Jamaat-e-Islami had earlier announced plans for today's march in solidarity with Gaza, in continuation of its nationwide movement condemning Israeli aggression.
