Pakistan’s Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Friday said they were expecting the Taliban would not allow using afghan soil against any other country.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the COAS visited the Pakistan Military Academy at Kakul and addressed the 4th Pakistan Battalion’s flag ceremony as chief guest.
He said in his speech that hopefully, the Taliban would fulfil their promises of human rights and women rights in Afghanistan to the international community.
General Bajwa said despite all the economic and other difficulties, Pakistan was becoming stronger.
He said Pakistan's sincere efforts in the Afghanistan peace process were for the establishment of a peaceful region and an economic partner.
The COAS said they had made it clear to the international community that it must play a role in finding a peaceful solution to Afghanistan.
He said Pakistan had paid a heavy price for unrest in Afghanistan and sheltered more than 3 million Afghans for four decades despite difficult economic situation.
Pak General also warned that they would not remain silent against the attempts to criticise Pakistan as these conspirators were the ones who are an obstacle to the regional peace.
General Bajwa said they would continue to play their role for peace and stability in Afghanistan as peace in the neighbour country was essential for the region and especially for the people of Afghanistan.
The COAS said they had overcome terrorism and fully defended the borders of the country. But, he added that the nature of the war was constantly changing and unconventional warfare would play an important role in future wars.
Lauding the sacrifices of Kashmiris in Indian Occupied Kashmir, General Bajwa said they were the victims of the worst state terrorism and exploitation.
He said the hearts of Pakistanis beat with Kashmiris and would always take a stand for them. He urged the international community to realise that regional peace was a mirage until a peaceful and just solution to Kashmir.
General Bajwa said enemy forces of Pakistan were trying to weaken Pakistani society and the state through hybrid war.
He said the Pakistan Army was fully aware of all these challenges and was ready to face them.
Appreciating the 4th Pakistan Battalion’s performance said it performed brilliantly since its inception five years ago. He also said Pakistan Military Academy was one of the best institutions in the world.
The COAS awarded Battalion Standard to the 4th Pakistan Battalion which was raised on the 10th of October 2016.
Addressing the faculty and cadets, the COAS lauded PMA's role as the premier training institution of the Pakistan Army and commended the faculty and staff for maintaining high standards of training that form the backbone of the Pakistan Army.
Dilating upon future challenges in the view of changing dynamics of warfare, COAS advised the cadets to wholeheartedly focus on training and remain abreast with the latest advancements in technology.
