Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday announced financial assistance for the family members of those killed and injured in a cracker blast at a mourning procession in Bahawalnagar on Thursday (Muharram 10th), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He also ordered the police to arrest the culprits involved in this heinous crime.
Offering his condolences to victims of the attack, the chief minister said although there was no substitute for human life, still the Punjab government would give Rs1 million each to the heirs of those killed in the incident, Rs0.5 million each to those seriously injured and Rs0.1 million to the injured.
“The provincial government stands by you in this hour of grief,” the chief minister said while addressing those affected by the blast.
CM Buzdar said that investigations were underway and expressed the hope that soon the police would get to the culprits.
Two people were killed while 30 others had been injured when some miscreants threw a cracker at a procession taken out in Bahawalnagar on the occasion of Ashura.
