Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered drugs including 4kg of hashish and 2kg of opium during a crackdown launched against smuggling of drugs through trains, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to ANF spokesman, as a result of intelligence information, junctions and trains were closely monitored by the ANF personnel.
He said that action was taken on Jaffar Express at Gujrat Junction after surveillance.
During the operation, guard in-charge of Jaffar Express and assistant examiner electric were arrested and a case has been registered against both the accused, residents of Rawalpindi, the spokesman added.
He said that the accused were trying to smuggle drugs from Rawalpindi to Jacobabad.
The spokesman said that after the incident of recovering drugs from train, surveillance at all major junctions and trains has been tightened.
