Punjab government has abolished duty on entertainment programs and shows, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Monday.
The Excise Department has issued a letter regarding the abolition of getting a No-Objection-Certificate (NOC) for the entertainment programme.
According to the letter issued by Director Region B, the Punjab Entertainment Duty Act, 1958 has been repealed, so now, the NOC of the Excise Department is no more required for entertainment programs and shows.
As per the notification, the Excise Department is not authorized to issue the NOC for entertainment programs and shows.
It is also mentioned that no excise officer or official can demand the NOC for entertainment programs and if any officer of the Excise and Taxation Department demands NOC, must be informed the senior officers about it.
