The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf is also planning to dissolve the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly on the instructions of its chairman Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Sources said that AJK Prime Minister Raja Tanveer Ilyas and GB chief minister have decided to dissolve their assemblies on Dec 23 (Friday) in conjunction with the date announced by PTI Chief Imran Khan for the dissolution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and Punjab Assembly.

But the PTI could find it difficult to go ahead with its dissolution plan of Punjab Assembly as the Centre-led PDM coalition partners submitted no-confidence motions against Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, PA speaker and deputy speaker to the assembly secretariat.

Sources revealed that AJK Premier Tanveer Ilyas held a meeting with President Dr Arif Alvi and exchanged views on political situation prevalent in the country.

KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi would also dissolve assemblies of their respective provinces on Dec 23.

According to sources, the PTI has declared the Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman’s order requiring the province’s chief minister to seek vote of confidence illegal.

The PTI leadership completed its consultation with the legal team which opined that neither the no-confidence resolution could be tabled nor the governor could ask the chief minister to seek vote of confidence as the session of Punjab Assembly is continued and the governor can’t summon a new session of the assembly.

A delegation of the PPP and the PML-N provincial lawmakers submitted a no-confidence motion against Elahi, Speaker Sibtain Khan and Deputy Speaker Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi in the Punjab Assembly on Monday in a bid to avert the PA dissolution.

Following the submission of the no-confidence motion, Governor Rehman summoned a session of the Punjab Assembly enabling the chief minister to seek the vote of confidence on Dec 21.
