Former MNA, MPA from Gujrat quit PTI

Former member national assembly from Gujrat Syed Faiz Ul Hasan Shah announced parting ways with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.


He was elected from NA 74 on the ticket of PTI in the 2018 polls.


In a press conference held in Gujrat on Tuesday, Shah along with the former member of provincial assembly Chaudhry Arshad denouncing the events of May 9, announced to quit PTI.


In a closely contested election, Shah emerged victorious against strong contenders, including Qamar-ul-Zaman Kaira of the PPP and Jaffer Iqbal from the PML-N. Syed Faiz ul Hasan Shah expressed condemnation May 9 riots, urging accountability for those responsible.


He called for fair punishment not only for those directly involved but also for the authorities overseeing the situation.


On the occasion, Chaudhry Arshad who secured victory from PP-34 Gujrat in the 2018 elections on the ticket of PTI announced to quit the party. 


In the joint press conference, he also announced his retirement from active politics. He declared that he would neither join any other political party in the future nor participate in upcoming elections.


 This announcement marks the end of a political era for Chaudhry Arshad, who has been a prominent figure in Gujrat's political landscape.
