Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered speedy establishment of 40 smart police stations across Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The CM took this decision while chairing a meeting in Lahore on Wednesday, which discussed the progress on smart police stations and repair and construction of 737 police stations in Punjab. The meeting reviewed the facilities being provided in the smart police stations in the province.
In the first phase, 23 smart police stations will be established in Lahore while 17 smart police stations will be set up in other districts of the province. It has been decided that the normal police stations will be transformed into smart police stations in the province in phases.
During the meeting, Naqvi instructed the officials concerned to ensure provision of land to police stations which don’t own their own land. He ordered the officials to compete the process of transfer for land for the smart police station as early as possible. The meeting also reviewed progress on the project of construction of 313 homes for police officers and other staff.
