Punjab Secretary Schools Education Khalid Nazeer Wattoo on Friday rejected application filed by owners of private schools seeking holding of winter camps in schools across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, owners of private schools submitted an applications to allow them to hold winter camps due to unannounced holidays to cover pending syllabus. But their application was turned-down.
Secretary Education warned the private schools owners to avoid holding winter camps during vacations otherwise stern disciplinary action will be taken against them.
He further explained that winter vacations necessary to provide mental peace to students. He suggested that teachers can complete their pending syllabus by holding extra classes.
Earlier, on December 19, 2024, Punjab education department has issued a revised notification for winter vacations.
According to new notification, winter holidays will now start on December 23 instead of December 20.
As per the new schedule, schools will reopen on January 13, while the holidays will continue until January 10.
The change comes as part of an updated notification issued by the department.
