The street crime rate in Karachi is reaching an alarming proportion as outlaws are running wild in the metropolitan city. Seeing this lawlessness, the Jamaat-i-Islami announced to launch a protest campaign in the metropolitan city from today (Sunday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a strange dacoity incident, some armed muggers after blocking a road near Korangi Causeway stream in Karachi looted more than 100 citizens.

According to eyewitnesses, the dacoits kept on stopping the vehicles and looting the innocent travelers. Police reached the venue after half an hour which gave enough time to the muggers to rob the citizens, they rued.

In crime incidents, women too were not left behind. In a motorcycle snatching incident in Karachi Central, Sector 7, a woman took part in the dacoity attempt along with two robbers. The 24NewsHD TV has obtained the CCTV footage of the incident.

It could be seen in the CCTV footage that the criminals walked towards the place where the two-wheeler was parked. One of the outlaws broke open the lock of the bike and then stared it and drove away.

A case was registered of the incident in the Sir Syed police station.

In North Karachi, Sector 5, two citizens were robbed of their possessions at their doorstep.

Fed up with the rising crimes and law enforces’ lax attitude, the citizens foiled a dacoity attempt near Malir Tanki stop. When a mugger tried to loot the citizens, people caught hold of him and then started beating him up. They gave vent to their anger and subjected him to severe torture and injured him.

In Karachi’s SITE area, a dacoit was killed in an encounter with police.

Police said that the slain dacoit had injured a citizen in a dacoity attempt.

On the other hand, the religious party, JI, announced to launch a protest campaign against rising crimes in the city. It was going to hold protests in as many as 50 areas of the city starting from today.

JI senior leader Hafiz Naeemur Rehman informed that the main protest would be held in Do Talwar Clifton. He was of the view that the city’s peace was being disturbed under a planned scheme. He alleged that the Sindh government was directly responsible for rising street crime rate in the city.

He called upon the DG Rangers to provide protection to the citizens. He lamented that the ruling elite were using more than half of the city police force for their families’ protocol.
