Election tribunals set up in Islamabad and KP

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a notification setting up election tribunals to take up complaints related to
Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.


Five election tribunals have been established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.


The ECP constituted a tribunal comprising Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri of the Islamabad High Court.


The first tribunal in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa consists of Justice Shakeel Ahmed and Justice Waqar Ahmed.


Justice Muhammad Naeem Anwar will take Mingora's pleas while Justice Ejaz Khan’s tribunal will hear Abbottabad-related complaints.


The tribunal at Dera Ismail Khan consists of Justice Fasal Subhan. The fifth tribunal of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa consists of Justice Kamran Hayat.



The Election Commission has already established the tribunal for Sindh and Balochistan. According to sources the names for a tribunal in Punjab have not been received so far. They added that the Election Commission has written a letter to the Lahore High Court chief justice for establishing an election tribunal in Punjab.
