The election for the National Assembly seat NA-85 in Sargodha has been postponed after the death of independent candidate Sadiq Ali, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Friday.
The returning officer Shoaib Nisoana issued a notification to halt the electoral process in the constituency until further orders.
The election was scheduled to be held on February 8.
The constituency was witnessing a close contest between independent candidate Aamir Sultan Cheema and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Dr Zulfiqar Bhatti.
