The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has submitted a report to the Prime Minister's Office regarding the issue of AI-generated videos and photos featuring the President of the UAE and Punjab Chief Minister, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
The agency has registered 12 FIRs across the country, and launched legal actions against 15 social media handlers linked to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), including Dr. Shahbaz Gul.
According to the report, FIA Lahore registered three cases, Faisalabad four, and Peshawar two. So far, 12 accused individuals have been arrested in connection with these cases.
The court has not granted bail to any of the arrested individuals, and 11 remain in FIA remand custody, while one has been sent to jail on judicial remand.
FIA authorities have also initiated legal proceedings against social media activists based abroad who are involved in disseminating the AI-generated content.
