Bad news for consumers as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Thursday notified Rs1.90 per unit increase in electricity prices under the monthly fuel price adjustment, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the notification, increase in prices will take effect from July.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA), on the other hand, had requested for Rs2.05 per unit hike in the electricity prices.
The NEPRA had heard the CPPA’s petition on July 5.
The decision will apply to the consumers of all power distribution companies barring those who are lifeline and of Karachi-Electric (K-Electric).
