The highly anticipated National IT Seminar and launch of IT projects will take place Thursday with the aim of fostering an enabling environment for technology development and driving sustainable economic growth. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will serve as the chief guest, while Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir will be the guest of honour, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.
The seminar will witness the participation of distinguished ministers, including those from Planning, Development and Special Measures, Finance, Defence, Defense Production, Foreign Affairs, Information Technology and Telecommunication, and Information and Broadcasting.
Notably, the Chief Ministers of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan, along with the Governor of the State Bank, the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue, IT experts, and senior army and civil officers, will also join the event.
International collaboration and knowledge-sharing will be key features of the seminar, as industry leaders and diplomats from Gulf countries, China, and the UAE are expected to attend. Their presence underscores the global recognition of Pakistan's potential in the IT sector.
Organised under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the seminar aims to consolidate the efforts of all stakeholders to promote technological advancements and create a knowledge-based economy. The integration of automation, digitization, business process re-engineering, and artificial intelligence will be emphasized, highlighting the IT industry's transformative power to empower other sectors.
The seminar will cover a range of crucial topics, including the impact of the new budget on the IT sector, measures to boost IT exports in the short to medium term, skills development, attracting foreign investment, and addressing challenges faced by enterprises and start-ups. Furthermore, the event will shed light on the role of the SIFC in ensuring policy continuity and facilitating ease of doing business.
In addition to thought-provoking discussions, the seminar will showcase the stalls of major IT companies in Pakistan, providing a platform for networking and exploring innovative solutions. Notable projects such as Destination Nation Pakistan, Tech Lift Boot Camp, First Knowledge Park for Women's Garden (AJ&K), Agri-Tech Incubator Faisalabad, and the Center of Excellence in Gaming and Animation will also be featured, highlighting Pakistan's strides in technology and innovation.
