Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan Friday announced that he will bear all expenses for the repatriation of Pakistani prisoners who have been stuck in Sri Lanka for several years, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
This move paves the way for their long-awaited return home.
Pakistani prisoners have been unable to return due to financial constraints despite the Ministry of Interior's efforts over the past three months, led by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, to negotiate their release with Sri Lankan authorities.
The release process faced delays due to the difficulty in meeting expenses and financial payments.
However, with Abdul Aleem Khan's commitment to cover these costs, the prisoners are expected to return home soon after the completion of the necessary procedures.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed his gratitude towards Abdul Aleem Khan, stating, "Your good work is a breath of fresh air for Pakistani prisoners and their families."
