The European Air Safety Committee (EASC) will hold a meeting in November to discuss lifting the four-year ban on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other Pakistani carriers.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the EASC meeting concerning Pakistani airlines to review their progress will take place from November 19 to 21.
According to aviation sources, the EASC reviews banned airlines every six months and the upcoming meeting in November will assess the progress made by Pakistani airlines and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
In the last meeting held on May 31, the EASC refused to lift the ban, citing inadequate flight safety measures by Pakistan's CAA.
The ban on Pakistani airlines was originally imposed in 2020 following a scandal involving questionable pilot licenses issued by the CAA.
