The post-Hajj flight operation to bring back over 86,000 Pakistani pilgrims under the government scheme from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to commence on Thursday, June 20. The operation is scheduled to conclude on July 21.
Returning pilgrims will receive five liters of Zamzam water at the airport. This operation follows the Hajj flight operations that began on May 9, facilitating Pakistani pilgrims under the government’s scheme.
This year, Pakistan has a Hajj quota of 179,210 pilgrims, with approximately 86,000 participating under the government scheme and the remainder using private tour operators.
Hajj flights departed directly from Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, and Peshawar, while pilgrims from Sukkur and Quetta travelled to Jeddah via Karachi.
Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, requires every adult Muslim to undertake the pilgrimage to Makkah at least once in their lifetime if they are financially and physically able.
A dedicated 400-member Pakistan Hajj Medical Mission is working around the clock to serve Pakistani pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. Pakistan has also established two hospitals and 11 dispensaries in Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah to provide healthcare to the Hajj pilgrims.
