The Punjab government's expenses for the next fiscal year are projected to reach a staggering Rs3,505 billion, marking an increase of Rs980.8 billion from the previous year, according to the recently released budget white paper.
The white paper reveals a significant rise in government expenditures compared to the last fiscal year, which stood at Rs2,524.3 billion.
The development budget for the current financial year is set at RS842 billion, an increase of Rs200 billion from the previous year's development budget of Rs641.52 billion.
The substantial increase in the development budget underscores the government's commitment to enhancing infrastructure and public services across the province. This financial strategy aims to address key areas of development while managing the substantial rise in overall governance expenses.
