The Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland on Friday suspended their visa operations in Pakistan for an indefinite period.
24NewsHD, quoting sources, reported that the embassies of the countries had stopped receiving the visa applications and cancelled the already decided appointments.
The new appointments dates would be shared with the applicants after an improvement in the situation amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The three European countries have joined the likes of Germany and Malaysia that stopped the issuance of visas during the current week.
It is worth mentioning that the European Union [Switzerland is not a member state] has already imposed a 30-day ban on the entry of non-EU residents to halt the spread of coronavirus.
However, the EU leaders agreed that internal borders erected in recent days should come down, as many Europeans work across borders.
