The ruling Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has launched a smear campaign against the Pak Army, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

At the behest of the ruling party leadership, the PTI social media 'troops' have begun the ‘defamatory’ drive against the military on social media after its media wing made it clear that the force has nothing to do with politics.

The PTI personnel are toeing the agenda of anti-state elements, according to reports.

PM digital media focal person Dr Arsalan Khalid is 'oblivious' of it.

Kanwal Shozaib, a PTI MNA, levelled accusations at the army on a Twitter space.

Amir Liaquat too raised the matter of Prime Minister Imran Khan, expressing concerns at the ruling party members' desperate bid to accomplish the take of enemies.

A few days ago, the military media wing made it clear that the armed forces have nothing to do with politics and they must not be dragged into the political game.

"I will again request there should be no unnecessary speculation or discussion on it," ISPR DG Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar said in reply to a question during a press conference the previous week.

The smearing invite ire among the lawmakers of government coalition partners.

Pakistan Muslim league-Q lawmaker Chaudry Salik Hussain has condemned the anti-army drive calling for PM’s notice of the matter.
