Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday claimed that he did not get out of his car at the Judicial Complex in Islamabad because “unknown persons” were waiting there to kill him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing the people through a video link, former prime minister Imran Khan said “Had I not moved from the complex immediately that might have resulted in bloodshed as the police, Rangers and unidentified people were making all-out efforts to provoke my party workers to create a battleground and use it as a cover to kill me.”

He said that the objective of the 20 people present in the Judicial Complex was to assassinate me. Our lawyers were subjected to torture inside the Judicial Complex", he added.

Imran Khan urged the Chief Justice to hold an investigation over the "20 people presented in the Judicial Complex". He also appealed to the Chief Justice to hold hearings of cases against him via video link, requesting that the Chief Justice to see what was going on in the country.

He said the caretaker government committed severe human rights violations by thrashing, arresting, and harassing the political workers, and conducting raids at the houses of the PTI leaders.

He added that the party is going to approach international human rights organizations and the European community against the ongoing oppression and suppression of the fascist government on the PTI activists.

Imran Khan said that PDM is trying to create a rift between the PTI and the military. “Pakistan is my country and the army also belongs to me.”

He directly accused the federal government, saying he feels threatened by his party's popularity in view of the elections in the country. Khan also said he feared he could be attacked again. “They think that the only way to get me out of the way is to eliminate me.”

In this grim scenario, Imran Khan appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to allow him to appear virtually in the dozens of cases brought against him — due to the threats to his life. He said the person who fired at me has been allowed to appear before the court through video conferences. So, he should be allowed to join the legal process via video conference, he asserted.

Exposing how he was trapped in an ‘assassination’ plot at the Judicial Complex, he said it took four and a half hours to reach the judicial complex from the toll plaza.   “He was mentally prepared that he would be put in jail but his worker alerted him at the eleventh hour saying that the establishment is in no mood to arrest him but to kill him.”

PTI chief reiterated that the federal government is running from the elections and utilizing all tactics to postpone the polls.

The ex-premier said PTI is the only party in the country that can unite the whole provinces of the country.

He also appealed to the PTI workers that no matter what the provocation, we must protest peacefully and within the bounds of the constitution. “Otherwise, we will give these fascists reason for more violence and postponement of elections.”

PTI chairman said that there are at least 100 cases registered again him which reflects that the federal govt feels threatened by me.

The former PM also gave a call for his party’s power show at Minar-i-Pakistan on Wednesday, which he said will serve as a referendum.
