Peshawar Development Authority DG Ammara named in Ring Road scam

Another name popped up in the Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal, and this time it’s the director-general of Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

According to sources, PDA Director-General Ammara Khan has been named in the infamous Rawalpindi Ring Road scam

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has demanded a report from the KP chief secretary in this regard. 

The chief secretary will brief the chief minister about the role of Ms Ammara Khan in the scandal, the sources added.

Ammara Khan had served as Rawalpindi Development Authority director-general. She was transferred and posted as PDA DG in February.

Two days ago, the Punjab government contacted the federal government and urged the federation to take stern action by suspending former commissioner Rawalpindi Capt (r) Muhammad Mahmood, former DC Attock Ali Annan Qamar and former DC Rawalpindi Capt (r) Anwar-ul-Haq.

Punjab handed over the charge sheet to the federal govt against officers involved in the Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal.

The Punjab government demanded suspension of these officers and disciplinary action against them.

The provincial government also demanded action against former RDA DG Abdul Sattar, who has been made OSD.

The TV channel reported that the Punjab government wrote that these officers were involved in the Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal.

Punjab government said that former commissioner Captain (r) Muhammad Mahmood had committed corruption of billions of rupees in Rawalpindi Ring Road.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal on Tuesday sought all files related to the Rawalpindi Ring Road Scandal.

The NAB head called the Executing Board meeting to approve inquiries on different cases.

Parliamentary probe sought

JUI-F Senator Kamran Murtaza has submitted an adjournment motion in the Senate Secretariat seeking setting up of a parliamentary committee for the inquiry of the infamous Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal.

The adjournment motion read, “This house demands a discussion on the Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal.”

The JUI-F senator motion reads, “A parliamentary committee should prepare a report on who was involved in this scandal and what was the role of district administration, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA).”

The JUI-F leader also demanded that the parliamentary committee should also report what investigation NAB and FIA have conducted so far.
