Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Friday said the government wants to sort out the problems that are prevailing in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing an event in Karachi, PM Shehbaz said he is not headed to Karachi for political point-scoring, nor there are any pros to doing it.

PM Shehbaz said he came to the city to discuss the issues with traders and industrialists.

PM Shehbaz said the dollar reached Rs189 from Rs115 in four years. He added: “This is not the fault of our government.”

PM Shehbaz said at the time of his oath-taking ceremony, the dollar was Rs189, adding soon after he took the office, the price of the dollar dropped by Rs8 and the stock market went up. “This was not our fault that the dollar popped by 60-65.”

PM Shehbaz said in the contemporary, the price of oil is way on top, adding billions of rupees were spent to export sugar.

PM Shehbaz posed the question and said when load shedding is over, then why it is happening again.

PM Shehbaz said by sensing the success of the no-confidence motion, the departing government at the time had decreased the price of oil.

PM lambasted the PTI government and said the previous government had taken the loans of Rs22,000b in tenure of three and half years, adding that in three and half years, the percentage of loans was surged by 80 per cent. PM flayed PTI and said at the time there was no political turmoil.

PM Shehbaz said the support which ‘Ladla’ [Imran Khan] got, if had received 30 per cent of it by any other government, then Pakistan would have been developed, way more than expected, adding Imran Khan had received support, which none other than him had in Pakistan’s 75 years of independence.

PM Shehbaz posed the question and said who gave Imran Khan the advice of dropping the price of petrol, adding at the time price of petrol was spiking at the international level.

PM Shehbaz said Pakistan could bring the IT export up to $15b, adding in all the provinces, IT Towers should be built.

PM Shehbaz applauded the business community and said they are the great guardians of Pakistan, urging the industrialists to tell the government any solutions.

PM Shehbaz said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia gifted a $1b investment in order to sort out the water crisis in Karachi.

PM Shehbaz lashed out at the PTI government and questioned what the former government was doing in three and half years, adding it the [PTI government] had not focused on solar energy.

PM Shehbaz said with green energy, the country will witness savings of $20b, adding the government has to head quickly toward solar and wind energy.

PM Shehbaz said on the charter of democracy, he had to face mocking, adding the government has no magical wand, questioning for how long it would pick the bowl.

PM Shehbaz said: “Today, we have become the net importers”, asking to set up the zones for exporters based industry. He added the investment of Rs1b is available, for which a plan should be made.

PM Shehbaz said there is a need of transparent policy, adding all the provinces should mark the export industry zone together.

PM Shehbaz asked to provide exporters with loans from the banks, free land for establishing the industry and to develop infrastructure.
