FIA nabs man attempting US entry with fake cricket club documents

The accused, who tried to go to America based on fake documents under the guise of a cricket club, was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.


According to FIA sources, the accused, identified as Shakeel Rafiq, was arrested outside the American Consulate in Karachi and belongs to Lahore.


The action against the accused was carried out at the request of the American Consulate.


The accused obtained fake documents from an agent named Sajjad, who is also a friend of the accused.


The accused settled matters with a person named Sajjad for 32000 UAE dirhams.


The accused initially paid Rs 450,000 in Pakistani currency, while the remaining amount was to be paid after the visa was granted.


The accused revealed himself to be associated with the cricket club at the US consulate.


The accused submitted fake documents regarding his affiliation with the cricket club, despite the fact that he did not have any knowledge about cricket.


The accused failed to respond satisfactorily to the US Consulate staff regarding the documents.


The accused has been arrested, and an investigation has been started.


Raids are being conducted to arrest the agent Sajjad named in the case.
