Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has called for a viable and sustainable plan to eliminate environmental patterns of poliovirus, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif presided over the meeting regarding eradication of polio here on Saturday.
Suggestions and recommendations to make Punjab completely polio free were reviewed in the meeting.
The Chief Minister directed to conduct effective vaccination campaign at all entry points of Punjab.
Maryam Nawaz also ordered for a comprehensive and effective vaccination campaign to achieve the goal of complete eradication of polio virus.
The meeting also decided tracking and registration of mobile and migrant population in Punjab.
To make polio eradication vaccination campaign more effective micro plan was also reviewed.
The CM instructed to compile authentic data on missing children during vaccination campaigns.
Maryam Nawaz said that it is our determination to make Punjab completely polio free and I am personally monitoring the vaccination campaign.
The CM Maryam said poliovirus can be eradicated only through the full cooperation of the people.
Cold chain should also be ensured during the vaccination campaign as per SOPs, Maryam Nawaz directed.
She said increasing virus circulation in Punjab is a matter of concern.
With regard to polio vaccination, full attention should be given to the weak districts, Maryam Nawaz instructed.
Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Parliamentary Secretary Uzma Kardar, Sania Ashiq Dr. Adnan Khan, Chief Secretary, Secretaries and other officials attended the meeting.
