Although Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has so far chaired three meetings on artificial rain in Lahore, still no decision has been taken as yet as there is nothing in the atmosphere that could help cloud formation, reported24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
As many as 11 members of the Environment Department, Pakistan Meteorological Department and SUPARCO have attended these meetings.
On the other hand, the provincial capital remains engulfed by smog as with the air quality index (AQI) standing at 205, the city was ranked as the most polluted city in the world on Saturday, making it extremely dangerous for human health.
The AQI at US consulate was recorded at 232, 223 at Johar Town, 206 at Thokar Niaz Beg and 204 at DHA Phase-8.
The weather in the city has been dry for the last several days, and is expected to remain dry during the next few days.
The maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 33 degrees Celsius.
