Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is expected to visit Pakistan next month with a high-level delegation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
In this regard, diplomatic sources said after the visits of Russian prime minister and deputy prime minister, the visit of Foreign Minister Lavrov is very important.
A high-level delegation along with the Russian Foreign Minister will also visit Pakistan, the diplomatic sources said.
During the visit of Russian Foreign Minister, energy projects including Steel Mills, oil refineries and Pakistan Stream Gas Pipeline project will be discussed.
There will also be discussions on the establishment of a gas storage facility in the Pakistan Stream Gas Pipeline project, the diplomatic sources said and added the visit is also expected to discuss Pakistan's participation in the North-South Transport Corridor.
During the visit to Pakistan, important discussions will also be held on Pakistan's joining the five-member Eurasian Economic Union, the diplomatic sources said.
The Eurasian Economic Union includes the Russian Federation, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Matters related to Pakistan's participation in the international BRICS forum will also be discussed, the diplomatic sources said.
Russia had announced to help Pakistan to join the BRICS forum.
There will be discussions on the promotion of mutual cooperation and relations between the two countries, including trade, industry, energy, mutual connectivity, science and technology and education.
The largest delegation attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) heads of government meeting on October 15 was from the Russian Federation, diplomatic sources said.
The sources further said that Pakistan and Russia have made progress in the field of defence cooperation in recent years.
The joint military exercises of the two countries are called "Droozbah", diplomatic sources said.
Russia is keen to further expand its relations with Pakistan, sources said.
